Why you should test or buy from tested herds

Hey folks this is why we test every year for CAE. This video was made by a breeder in Texas who rescued a herd of Toggs. CAE is very close to AIDs in humans. You can get a great deal on a goat and it brings funk into your herd and then gets passed on ! This herd was put into isolation and tested for everything. Good thing because they look beautiful and healthy but carry something you do not want in your herd. When I buy any goat they go into isolation and are tested. No matter what the farm or breeder tells me. I test again. You do not want this in your HERD! It is tragic this Togg herd had this because the breed is so going extinct...

The Bad thing about CAE is it can be there and you do not know it and it is infecting your herd... Everyone healthy and all is good, but the funk has infected your herd and all the work and love you have put into that herd, is sent to a sale barn or worse and lost...
So please test for CAE, CL , Johnes and Bruceliosis( if you milk)
